In 2018, Julie sponsored one of the strongest “red flag” laws in the United States. The Firearm Restraining Order Act, allows family members or a law enforcement officer to alert the courts that an individual poses a danger of personal injury to themselves or the public and has access to a firearm. 

Since then, Julie has remained a staunch proponent of strong gun safety laws. She has passed legislation promoting gun safe storage tools and giving State Police a greater ability to track stolen firearms or firearms without serial numbers. 

When it comes to gun safety and the safety of our communities, Julie doesn’t just talk about solutions, she fights for them every day.
